Grow-a-Row Food Donation Organizations

We are so excited that you are wanting to donate produce to the Grow-a-Row program! Some of the organizations that you may wish to donate your extra produce for the Grow-a-Row program are listened below. Note: To track your food donations, use this form.

  • Community Fridge KW - The fridge is open 24/7, so donations can be dropped off any day, any time. Over 200 volunteers maintain the fridge, and can assist with food rescue if you have food to donate but don't have the time or means to drop it off. Contact them at communityfridgekw@gmail.com or @communityfridgekw on Facebook/Instagram to coordinate a food pick up.

  • Food Not Bombs - With a heads up, donations can be accepted each Friday from 2-4 pm at St John's Church (23 Water Street North, Kitchener). Just ring the Social Development Centre doorbell on the far right hand side of the Duke Street doors, and they will come to the door to meet you and gratefully accept your donations. Donations provided here also go to "A Better Tent City". Donations for other days of the week can be made by emailing abtc@waterlooregion.org.

  • St John's Kitchen - Deliveries to here must be coordinated through Grow-a-Row by filling out the Produce Donations to St. John's Kitchen Form. Note also that donations can only be picked up Monday-Friday before 2 pm. Preferably donations on Friday are made in the morning, as produce can wilt over the weekend.

  • Food Bank of Waterloo Region - Donations are accepted daily at 50 Alpine Court, Kitchener from Monday to Friday from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm (seasonal and holiday hours are available at thefoodbank.ca/contact). Please ensure that food donations have not been exposed to pesticides or other chemicals, and donors follow food safety protocols to transport food.
